I&#8217;m also a better person in general, which I&#8217;m not all too happy about, but that&#8217;s an entirely different topic. <p>I figure you didn&#8217;t know. That I&#8217;m a better gamer when I&#8217;m drunk that is. In fact, I&#8217;m playing through Bulletstorm on Very Hard while intoxicated. So what do you guys think? I know that Drunkgamers.net does this as well from what I can tell, but it&#8217;d give my guildies something to laugh about while we wait for ToR.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Ideas I&#8217;m tossing about, a drink counter. Like Epic Meantime&#8217;s calorie-counter more or less. And obviously commentary, anything else would be silly. But anyway, it&#8217;s more or less just an idea at this time, but it would be awesome to get some feedback on this!</p>

<p>Obviously things are going to have to go smoothly for me next week. As my shuper-shecret-project will launch. And it&#8217;ll be podcasts more or less, gameplay videos or reviews of games. Countless possibilities, so of course a little chaos will be involved before the blog settles down to one subject.</p>
<p>I&#8217;m also hoping to get some suppot from whoever&#8217;s reading, since input and criticism is always welcome. I&#8217;m fairly certain that the podcasts will be a success, and if not then they&#8217;ll at least give me somewhere to vent my rage, win win situation, see?</p>
<p>The blog has had a different theme installed, since I find this one a lot more clean, and I&#8217;ve rarely seen it used on gamingblogs. I really hope that you guys won&#8217;t mind it compared to the other, and of course I&#8217;ve added a guild page which is what &#8220;official&#8221; guild that I&#8217;m in. After all, would Buddy Jesus lie about approving this layout?</p>

<p>I&#8217;ve never been really good at delivering news, but then again you don&#8217;t have to be. Either way, I&#8217;m really excited about this all in all, and hopefully I&#8217;ll get some support from you guys aswell.</p>
<p>I&#8217;ll end things on a positive note though, there will be weekly updates, i.e there will be at least 52 videos a year.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify;">So I read up on <a href="http://biggsgaming.blogspot.com/2010/06/looking-into-marauder.html" target="_blank">Bigg&#8217;s post</a> on the Marauder&#8217;s current state a month or two ago, and it was really good. Pretty much hit the nail spot on.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Taken from Bigg&#8217;s post;</p>
<li style="text-align:justify;">Wrecking Ball: Every hit from this ability has now a 25% chance to apply a debuff that increases the targets chance to be critically hit by 10% for 5 seconds. Mirror this effect to the White Lion ability Whirling Axe.</li>
<li>Insane Whispers: Mouth of Tzeentch will with this tactic now instead of adding a disorient it will lower the outgoing healing of all targets it his with 25% for 10 seconds.</li>
<p>I really like the Wrecking Ball/Whirling Axe improvement, since I&#8217;ve personally always thought of Monstrosity as a harassment mastery, rather than a DPS one. Not entirely sure on how I feel regarding the Insane Whispers, since now we actually have use for it with the <a href="http://forums.warhammeronline.com/warhammer/board/message?board.id=dev_discussions&amp;message.id=12505#M12505" target="_blank">proposed changes to the Sorc/BWs Close Quarter</a>. I mean it&#8217;d give us a pretty good reason to be in a oRvR WB along with us for once being on the front and shining more than those pesky Chosens. <img src='http://s1.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt=';)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>But now that we&#8217;ve gone over Bigg&#8217;s post regarding the Monstrosity Marauder (btw he has to be Swedish with such good C&amp;C suggestions, I&#8217;m just sayin&#8217;), I&#8217;ll go ahead and post my changes to the Monstrosity Marauder.</p>

<p>Always thought this one is lacking, since it&#8217;s damage is only justified when using the M3 <a href="http://www.wardb.com/spell.aspx?id=629" target="_blank">Broad Swings</a>. But I&#8217;m all for seeing a either as Bigg&#8217;s said a 25% chance to apply a debuff that increases the targets chance to be critically hit by 10% for 5 seconds, or having their chance to crit reduced by the same amount, both benefits group play which I&#8217;m all for.</p>

<p>But another skill that bothers me is Wave of Mutilation. The AE Initiative debuff is massively underrated by both MARs and everyone else in general, the WS debuff is just a bonus though. It&#8217;s a 80 initiative which is gone from the opponent, and that&#8217;s pretty damn good actually considering how low people&#8217;s initiative is in general (unless you&#8217;re beating on a PvE tank), along with how initiative scales oddly. So my suggestion (If we get our Monstrosity tree fixed) is to make it a Monstrosity only ability.</p>
<p>And yeah a lot of you guys are going to scream at me and so forth, but this is only how I feel about it.</p>
<p>Now let&#8217;s get to the tactics;</p>

<p>The tactic <a href="http://www.wardb.com/spell.aspx?id=8444" target="_blank">Hulking Brute</a> is definitely a must for your Monstrosity Marauder. Since you shouldn&#8217;t really be under the delusion that you&#8217;re going to deal damage as a Monstrosity Marauder, but rather support your group and stay alive, does help give you the sense that this is a must for your marauder. But I would like to change so that it grants you 80-120 initiative aswell, but I wouldn&#8217;t recommend buffing the initiative stat to the same level as the toughness goes.</p>

<p>I&#8217;d actually like to keep the tactic as it is to be quite frank, due to the recent changes to the Close Quarter skill. While I&#8217;d certainly enjoy an Area of Effect healing debuff, I&#8217;d much rather have a way to help contribute to stopping enemy bombers. For once, it&#8217;d definitely feel nice to be the one to support my group, rather than the just the Choppa (out of all the melee members that is).</p>

<p>Can anyone please tell me just how much 225 morale is? Because I sure don&#8217;t know. If Mythic could actually state that, it&#8217;d be a lot easier to tell just how effective this ability is/could be. But the concept is still great, and it&#8217;d work awesome with Wrecking Ball. Still, not entirely sure I enjoy it being at the top of the tree, considering that we have no idea how much 225 &#8220;points&#8221; of morale actually is.</p>
<p>And that&#8217;s basically it, I won&#8217;t bother going about with my thoughts regarding <a href="http://www.wardb.com/spell.aspx?id=8412" target="_blank">Mutated Energy</a>, since I&#8217;ve never (never during my entire history of WAR) gotten around to actually fire it of, never.</p>
<p>So those are my thoughts regarding a buff/tweak to the Monstrosity Mastery Tree. It isn&#8217;t a whole lot of &#8220;buffs&#8221; so to speak, and even a nerf in it, but I&#8217;m still pretty pleased with the result on how it &#8216;could&#8217; look if Mythic did this. Also big thanks to Biggsie and his blog since I got a certain &#8220;template&#8221; to look at when finishing this draft.</p>
<p>Oh and for anyone curious on when I&#8217;ll get back into the game, not before the 18th of August by the looks of it, since the company assembling my computer seem to be more lazy than me when it comes to blogging.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Ahoy! So given some very good discussion on <a href="http://www.warhammeralliance.com/" target="_blank">WHA</a> regarding the Warhammer Online class, the Marauder, I thought I&#8217;d give my 40 pence regarding how to revamp the current Brutality tree.</p>

<p><span id="more-56"></span></p>
<p>First of, let&#8217;s get some ground covered as to what the Brutality mastery tree is supposed to do for the class;<br />
<em>&#8220;A Mastery path focused on inflicting heavy damage to a single opponent.&#8221;</em></p>
<p>In short, it&#8217;s a tree meant to burst down opponents, or a PvE tree aswell if you will. And looking through the <a href="http://www.wardb.com/career.aspx?id=14" target="_blank">career builder</a>, it&#8217;s easy to tell that the utility on this is rather low.</p>
<p>However at it&#8217;s current state it does lack utility, but it also lacks damage to make up for it. There are some easy changes to this and they don&#8217;t quite require much to change;</p>
<p><a href="http://spuxy.files.wordpress.com/2010/05/convulsive-slashing.png"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-57" title="Convulsive Slashing" src="http://spuxy.files.wordpress.com/2010/05/convulsive-slashing.png?w=510" alt=""   /></a></p>
<p>A close to useless skill in the Brutality tree. It&#8217;s supposed to give the Marauder some ground for attack when he&#8217;s not in any position to use either Impale or Guillotine. However, as it stops your Auto-Attacks it also drops your damage considerably, along with having rather low damage aswell. But it&#8217;s easy to revamp into a better version;</p>
<ul>
<li>3 Attack hit, instead of it being channeled it can actually work as a burst ability, making it hit the enemy three times along with allowing Auto-Attacks in the process.</li>
<li>Keeping the current base damage, would that be overpowered? Hardly, as the current damage is equal to that of Flail (monstrosity&#8217;s spam button skill).</li>
<li>45-55 AP cost per use, as it would be a great boost towards the skill in general, a higher AP cost would ensure that it would be handled with care.</li>
<li>No Cooldown &#8211; But as it would become the main attack of the Brutality tree, a cooldown would be a bit much over the top when adding the high AP cost to it.</li>
</ul>
<p>And that is my suggestion to making that skill a lot more useful. But, we still got some ground to cover, so bare with me!</p>
<p>Growing Instability, it increases your Critical Hit damage by 10% per 10% HP lost. But it&#8217;s too situational to be worth it in all fairness, and if we are going to balance mirrors more towards each other, it would most certainly be a good idea to let this ability mirror Pack Synergy (a flat 50% Critical Hit damage increase).</p>

<p>A would-be good skill, but tied to a horrible ability. And here the answer is simple; Turn it completely around and make it into a 50% Auto-Attack speed increase that is only avaible within the Brutality stance/mutation. In short, a mirror towards the Pack Hunting tactic. And it would actually work well with our stance/mutation proc.</p>

<p>Only one situation where I can consider Wave of Terror to be usefull; Chokepoints. Keep sieges mainly. Why it&#8217;s also located so high up in the Brutality tree, I truely cannot tell. And another thing that I&#8217;m uncertain of is how to balance this skill to work in a PvP situation. Any suggestions would be greatly appriciated!</p>
<p>And the rest is the rest. In short, these key abilities and tactics should be changed into something that&#8217;s actually viable. And while some may argue that these changes would be OP, you still have the stance system to keep in mind. While in the Brutality tree, there is no utility, just like in the monstrosity tree there is no damage.</p>

<p>2K games definetly knew what they were doing when developing this epic campaign. The multiplayer wasn&#8217;t a very hot topic for me, but as usual it mattered little as an epic campaign was included.</p>
<p>Awakening in a strange but yet familiar place does raise some questions, and as such the only option were to pursue the answers. Navigating through the many floors and rooms that completes the city of Rapture is certainly a challange at first. But since it&#8217;s quite liniar at first, it gives a new player a fighting chance not to become lost in this vast sea.</p>
<p>Now, there&#8217;s certainly one big difference to the previous game. You&#8217;re not just somebody, you&#8217;re a Big Daddy. That&#8217;s right, a  metal scuba diver who&#8217;s seriously pissed off!</p>
<p>About the plot of the story-line&#8230; it&#8217;s a bit sad, and a bit odd (which co-incidently could work well for a Tim Burton movie). You&#8217;re an earlier series of a Big Daddy, more specifically you&#8217;re one of the <a title="Alpha Series" href="http://mimg.ugo.com/201001/35310/bioshock-2-big-daddy.jpg" target="_blank">Alpha Series</a>. An earlier experimental Big Daddy, tied to a single little sister for your entire life. Straying away from her weakens the Big Daddy&#8217;s body, and either kills him in the process, or blinds him in an endless rage if it survives.</p>
<p>So your goal is to re-unite yourself with your Little Sister. But as you progress you start to see a bigger picture of the story-line, as it&#8217;s not as simple as you thought when you launched the game.</p>
<p>Now there&#8217;s obviously the combat, and not much has changed since the predecessor. A few new weapons came along, and also a few new plasmids. But there&#8217;s one obvious weapon that you notice right from the beginning; The Drill.</p>

<p>With this insanely awesome Drill of Doom, it surely can&#8217;t get any better! So what uses does a drill have? Several, and most are gory and fun! Let&#8217;s look at our options; We can obviously upgrade it for even gorier executions, and we can certainly clear some of that pesky rubble with it. While there being several other weapons such as the Shotgun, Machine gun, Spear gun and so forth, the Drill is definetly my personal favorite.</p>
<p>There&#8217;s little point in me trying to compress every aspect of Bioshock 2 into one single post, but I will continue with another part (possibly part 3) in a near future. Until then you&#8217;ll have to bare with me as I&#8217;m still relatively new to reviews and blogging!</p>

<h4 style="text-align:center;"><span style="color:#ab1916;">Questing and PvP</span></h4>
<div id="_mcePaste">While the quests were quite easy and fun at times, sometimes even challanging too. They didn&#8217;t quite encourage group play nor give you decent enough rewards to even bother in the first place. Thus, I went to the PvP section and tried my luck there.</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">It became ubundently clear that the imbalance between certain specializations &amp; abilities were immense. It was also horrible trying to kill someone with healing powers, as there was no way to interrupt these channeled abilities.</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">There are always so many combat abilities to choose from since they do not have specific classes, that there&#8217;s always some that you never use. A game without classes is one thing, but with so many areas to choose from, it&#8217;s hard to know what to use and when to use it. So it&#8217;s easy to make it into a one button game.</div>

<div id="_mcePaste">Now speaking of PvP, there was one thing in particular that bothered me. The Travel Powers.</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">A way for Cryptic to implement a mount-like feature without riding on the back of a creature.</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">The travel powers range everywhere from Super Speed, to Teleportation. Now these things may look very good indeed on paper, it&#8217;s a completely different story when implemented.</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">Teleportation would allow the character to become virtually invisible and immune to damage for about 12 seconds, and it would also disable the combat feature. Allowing the player&#8217;s health and energy regeneration to increase dramatically. In short, a combat would dissapear from plain sight, and pop back at full health without penalties.</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">To put it blunt; Travel Powers should not be allowed in PvP, period.</div>
<div><strong><span style="color:#ab1916;">The Crafting System</span></strong> wasn&#8217;t too impressive either. Diverting the 9 attributes into 3 different skills would ensure that you could power up yourself.</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">However, the quest rewards were often a lot better than the crafted items that you spent hours to create.</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">Now, I could go on describing all the aspects of crafting, but there&#8217;s simply not enough room. So to shorten it down to the simple features and annoyances about Champions Online&#8217;s crafting system.</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">It takes ages to level up, you lose a huge amount of items in the process, and you fill up your bank with materials you have no idea what to use for. It&#8217;s easy to tell that the Crafting section of the game did not recieve a lot of attention. As most items were near-useless in comparision to the quest rewards, crafting just wasn&#8217;t worth any attention other than gaining bags.</div>
<div><strong><span style="color:#ab1916;">Respecialization &amp; Unlearning</span></strong> was a pain. You gained a list of all your abilities and ranks, however when it came to actually unlearning them, you had no possible way of selecting a specific skill to unlearn. With the insane rise of &#8216;respec&#8217; prices, it was impossible to choose a different path if you were unhappy with your current one.</div>
<div><strong><span style="color:#ab1916;">Instances</span></strong><span style="color:#ffffff;"> </span> are non-existant until you&#8217;ve reached level 40 (that is, if you actually manage to get there). Why have most MMOs since World of Warcraft disregarded the lower level players so immensely? I dare say that more MMOs will make the mistake of ignoring this crucial part of the game.</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">So how about I give my reader&#8217;s a shorter version?</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">The game could&#8217;ve been a great pick-up &amp; play MMO, but the Developers didn&#8217;t seem to polish any existing core systems upon release. Which would&#8217;ve been alright, were it fixed in later patches. However being 9 months old, and still flawed, it leaves me with little hopes for this game.</div>
